--- In a Nutshell... ---

My research focuses on organic semiconductors and conducting polymers for future-emerging sensing applications to rival the abilities of our own senses: With two aims, studying their intrinsic sensitivity for chemistry and molecules to enable such a concept as an integrated electronic nose, and unraveling their potential for evolutionary electronics as a bioinspiration for tomorrow's microelectronic manufacturing.

--- sentio ergo sum... ---

Senses are the open gates which connect our intellect to our environment. Thanks to them, our brain captures information in real time in a way we still did not completely get. We know however that their selection, resulting for biological evolution, is far different from the way we design sensing technologies: Senses are unique for each individual at birth and keep physically adapting to needs in a lifetime, while sensors are stardard when mass-produced and still-and-rigid during operation. There is still plenty of things our senses capture better than sensors. One way which could potentially help us to improve them is to make them physically unique and adapting by exploiting conducting polymers for their inherent randomess as organic semiconductors and their transience when electrogenerated by applying small voltages on electrodes.
