--- In a Nutshell... ---
My research focuses on organic semiconductors and conducting polymers for future-emerging sensing applications to rival the abilities of our own senses: With two aims, studying their intrinsic sensitivity for chemistry and molecules to enable such a concept as an integrated electronic nose, and unraveling their potential for evolutionary electronics as a bioinspiration for tomorrow's microelectronic manufacturing.
--- Conductors of Charges and Masses... ---
Conducting polymers are macromolecules that combine most of the properties of organic semiconductors with the functionality of plastics when dry or colloids when wet. When compounded with ion-conductors, conducting polymers intricate electrons, ions and molecules in a same material, giving mixed ion-electron conduction and a much higher affinity with its environment compared to hard conductors like metals or silicon.
