--- In a Nutshell... ---

My research focuses on organic semiconductors and conducting polymers for future-emerging sensing applications to rival the abilities of our own senses: With two aims, studying their intrinsic sensitivity for chemistry and molecules to enable such a concept as an integrated electronic nose, and unraveling their potential for evolutionary electronics as a bioinspiration for tomorrow's microelectronic manufacturing.

--- Electronics wired with Molecules... ---

Organic semiconductors are materials made of molecules capable of conducting electricity. In these materials, electric charges are governed by physical mechanisms similar to those dictating the behavior of electrons and holes in atomic semiconductor crystals. Doping, a key process in transistor fabrication, can be achieved by blending organic semiconductors with foreign molecules. However, the charge transfer involved in doping with molecular agents is not solely ruled by electrostatics, and their chemistry plays a critical role in the electrical performance of these materials.
